What is Laser by Moneybookers?

The LaserCard has been around since about 1996. Basically, it is a standard debit card, but it is specific to the Republic of Ireland. The supporting banks include Allied Irish Banks, Bank of Ireland, National Irish Bank, and Ulster Bank.

As a debit card, it works extremely well, but has encountered little success as an online payment method, because most online retailers won't accept it. How does it work?

When you select to pay via Laser by Moneybookers, effectively you're opening a new Moneybookers account. What's special about it is that it has Laser's debit card functionality built into it, so that you can transfer funds straight from your Laser card into the new Moneybookers account.
