First things first, let`s answer the question on everyone`s lips and by "everyone" I mean my wife, my mom, and the other editors at the Insider: How did I do in the $1.5 million Sunday tournament on PokerStars.com?
Here`s the answer. With the blinds still at the MINIMUM first level amount I was dealt 7J in the big blind. There was a caller to my left who had bet me off two early pots, so naturally I hated him. The flop came 89T rainbow and I nearly wet myself with anticipation. I checked, he bet, I check-raised, he went all-in, and I couldn`t wait to call him and see that JQ, which at some point in this particularly awful incident I knew he had, and so I finished close to last, with total tournament time equalling roughly 13 minutes.
But enough about me! How about that day on Stars? It was off the hook y`all, as one might say if one`s education stopped suddenly in the 5th grade due to an unexepected pregnancy. Let`s look at the icy turgid facts:
Only 9600 showed up for the $2 million freeroll on Stars. That`s giving back and giving one to Full Tilt at the same time. 4000 were paid, which meant an excellent chance of winning something. Why didn`t I play there? Oh that`s right, I bubbled out of that satellite and lost all my FPPs in the process. Doh!
7700+ showed up for "my" tournament, the Sunday Million, which is now more like the Sunday Million And A Half. There was more than $1.5 million up for grabs here as there is now on most Sundays in this event.
When I last looked there were 130,000 players on Stars at 20,000 tables at the same time. The UIGEA has certainly cracked down HARD on that illegal online gambling menace. Wankers. Look it up Americans, it is positively resonant when it comes to your jag-off government (whom you elected...TWICE).
