March 3 - To make a profit with March Madness betting is one of the toughest tasks for a professional sports gambler. If you don't think it's tough try filling out your 2008 NCAA Tournament Bracket by picking the winners against the spread, not just straight up which is hard enough.

A few weeks ago we took a crack at some early bracketology of our own by listing our March Madness Power Rankings, where we attempted to highlight 10 schools that had expectations of making it to the Sweet Sixteen this year.
You'll see from that initial list that we overvalued the chances of some schools (Florida), and ignored the chances of others (Tennessee) - although for the most part we still feel that we have listed the best basketball schools in the country for '08.
As of March 3 no less than 6 of our Top 7 schools are currently in the Top 7 of the latest Associated Press Top 25 College Basketball Poll. Our only miss was on Tennessee; we had Georgetown who are currently ranked #11 in that poll.
Still we thought it was time to add the names of five more schools to our list of teams to follow. They follow here:
Tennessee - With a 26-3 record plus some huge wins to their credit it would be a surprise not to see them make it to the Sweet Sixteen, although their record at the Big Dance historically has verged on inept.
Notre Dame - A real dark horse pick for this year's tournament but if they continue to play to this level they will knock out teams in the bracket.
Clemson - A gritty team with plenty of character and will to win. They shape up as exactly the right kind of team to do well in a knock-out tournament.
Marquette - They play well on the road and have a good pedigree come March Madness time. A lively threat this year.
Xavier - Currently ranked #8 by that AP poll they have certainly improved at the right time. A solid pick to make it to the Sweet Sixteen this year and put that Ohio State nightmare behind them.
When you're ready to unload with March Madness betting we recommend reading our independent
