April 24 - 888, one of the world's largest and most popular online gaming entertainment
corporation, was awarded second runner up in the Best First Time Report
category at the third annual online CRRA reporting awards.
888 competed alongside other impressive first timers such as the Walt Disney
Company, who won the award for their report.
The CR Reporting Awards are the world’s only independent global annual awards
for corporate responsibility reporting and attract international heavyweights
such as BP, Vodafone, Hewlett- Packard and Coca-Cola.
The Report is the first that 888 has produced, and builds on the Company’s
long-standing commitment to corporate and social responsibility.
888 appointed Ruth Tanami as dedicated Director of Responsible Gaming in
2006, and in recognition of the Company's CSR policies has been a member of the
FTSE4Good since March 2008.
2008 saw 888 continue to progress initiatives across a diverse range of
areas, with a comprehensive programme helping improve the Company’s economic,
social and environmental impacts. These are split into three sections in the
Report – People, Planet and Play.
Commenting on the Award, Gigi Levy, Chief Executive Officer, said:
“It’s a fantastic honour to be recognised in this way, and is an endorsement
of our commitment to corporate and social responsibility.”
