Free Royal Ascot Tip for St James Palace Stakes - 06-13-08

June 13 - UK horseracing fans have had a great time of it of late, with the exciting Epsom Derby last weekend, and the prestigious Royal Ascot events kicking off next week with 30 top-notch horses to bet on, including favorite, Twice Over, in the St James's Palace Stakes.

The five-day Royal Ascot event reflects the finest racehorses, trainers and jockeys from England and abroad in Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Handicap, Listed and other categories, and is always attended by the who's who of English society along with royalty, hence the name.

One of the most anticipated races during Royal Ascot is the St James's Palace Stakes (Group 1) scheduled for Tuesday 17th at 3:45pm GMT. The St. James's Palace Stakes is a flat race for three-year-old thoroughbred colts and covers a distance of 1 mile.

As one of the most touted horses for the St James's Palace Stakes, top-rated colt, Twice Over - owned by Prince Khalid Abdullah - is expected to go up against another favorite, Henrythenavigator, as he attempts to regain his winning streak after losing the Dante Stakes in May this year.

The loss in the Dante is the only 'smudge' on an impressive unbeaten record for Twice Over, who is the son of top-rated runner, Observatory. According to his trainer, Henry Cecil, the colt wasn't ready to run in the Guineas, but he is nothing short of bullish leading up to the 2008 Royal Ascot meeting.

'After the Dante, Twice Over's blood count was not right. However, I am more than confident that he is back in top form and stands an excellent chance of winning the coveted St James's Palace Stakes title and celebrates yet another high-profile Royal Ascot victory, 'said Cecil.

'While there is little doubt that Henrythenavigator is a world class horse, we have to take him on, don't we? Health-wise, Twice Over is very well and has improved tremendously even though he hasn't done much racing of late. I believe he has even improved his form since he won the Craven'.
