NFL Betting For Patriots Bengals Monday Night Football - 10-01-07
October 1 - There have already been some notable NFL football betting moves for tonight's Monday Night Football clash between the New England Patriots and the Cincinnati Bengals. The spread for this game opened with New England favored by a line of -6 points. But a flood of money has seen that number soar to -8 at the Mirage sportsbook, and some online sportsbooks are quoting the Pats at -9 points (albeit at +105).

The Over/Under total points market has also been the subject of a lot of betting action. That number opened at 52 points and was quickly snapped up by a flurry of "Over" players. The number is now trading at 53.5 points with 54 on offer at the Mirage.

Bengals have played three games so far this season and at 1-2 look unimpressive next to the imperious 3-0 Pats. But the Bengals two losses were both on the road, the first to the Browns doesn't look so bad with Cleveland very tough at home (beating the Ravens there yesterday) and the second was in Seattle, arguably the most hostile location for road teams.
In their only home game Cincy played very well to dispatch the Ravens and they can certainly put up a lot of points tonight. The Patriots are overvalued here at +8 points based on the media already practically crowning them as Super Bowl champs. They are the best team in the league, but it is still a tall order to beat the Bengals on the road by more than 7 - a better bet is to take the points here as this could well be an ATS upset in the making.
