April 10 - Based on its latest research figures, Poker Scout reports that the Isle of Man-based  PokerStars.com, an independent online poker site, has a huge lead over its rivals as the world's largest online poker room.

Poker Stars (owned Rational Enterprises) currently has over 14,000 cash players during peak hours and this goes as high as over 22,000 concurrent cash players at peak hours. The seven day cash player moving average is over 15400.

In the second place is the now Ireland based FullTiltPoker.com, who at the time of writing had over 8200 cash players active which has recently peaked at 9,732 concurrent players and a has a weekly average of more than 7,000.

A relatively new mover into third spot is the Playtech powered iPoker network, which is making good headway consider its relatively late entry into the market. Next up is  PartyPoker.com in fourth. Party is still going pretty strong considering it doesn't take US players. Fifth is the Ongame Network and sixth is the new kid on the block and fast moving Everest Poker.

The Swedish Government's monopoly Svenske Spel in seventh, with Boss Media's International Poker Network in eighth place, just ahead of the troubled UltimateBet.com. CakePoker.com takes the cake in tenth place.

Bodog Life Poker is in position 12 with the Microgaming Poker Network which is still feeling the effects of its insider cheating scandal, is in eleventh place followed by Bodog Life Poker in twelfth. 888's PacificPoker.com is in 14th place.
