May 16 - Who will win American Idol? According to the latest odds for those who want to bet on American Idol it isn't even going to be close! Bodog.com, a leading online sportsbook, make Taylor Hicks a huge favorite at 2/7 with Katharine McPhee and Elliott Yamin trailing far behind.
Bodog clearly looks at Taylor Hicks as the musical equivalent of Barbaro. In fact you'll probably get a better price than 2/7 against on Barbaro to win the Preakness.
American Idol is down to the last three contestants with the nation voting at the time of writing to determine who will make it to the final showdown.
Interestingly, online sportsbooks are a lot less certain about who else will make it to the final along with Taylor. Katherine McPhee is 5/2 in the betting with Elliot Yamin close behind her at 3/1 to win it all.
Yamin has strong support in Virginia, which will help his cause. McPhee is from California and the lack of that strong community feel towards her might be her downfall.
