Last season our Arizona Cardinals betting preview for 2007 predicted that this team would improve on their 5-11 mark in 2006 and could end up with 8 wins. The Cardinals did indeed improve last year under new head coach Ken Whisenhunt who instilled some toughness in a team that was lacking in backbone, but they still missed the playoffs and ended up .500. So we were right about them and also made good money on them by betting them early on in the season and going against them late as they covered only twice in the last six outings.

This team is primed to regress in 2008. They have a serious problem at QB. If they start Warner they'll lose a lot of games until he gets concussed and they have to go back to Leinart. If they start Leinart they put the team in the hands of a guy who doesn't put football first, and who doesn't have the backing of his coach or the locker-room. So they'll lose some more. The schedule is horrible with only three home games that look like wins. We're predicting this team finishes 6-10 at best and although they might offer underdog value in very select spots it will pay not to bet on them as a general rule.
