October 6 - On Sunday fans of top English Premier League football
team, Arsenal, had a reason for going out and getting drunk after their team
racked up a convincing 6-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers at their London home
ground, Emirates Stadium, thanks for the most part to captain, Cesc Fàbregas.

But what the end score does not reflect is the way the game started. From the
whistle Blackburn Rovers were all over Arsenal like white on rice, and the
Lancashire team kicked off the scoreline with a excellent header from defender,
Steven N'Zonzi, off a superb cross from his goalie, Paul Robinson.
However, clearly frightened of the scathing looks directed their way by their
manager, Arsene Winger,... er...I mean Wenger, Arsenal responded to Blackburn's
goal soon after when Gunners' defender, Thomas Vermaelen, used his left foot to
power a perfect Fàbregas pass into the corner of the Rovers' nets.
With Wenger's 'happy scowl' back in place, it was now game on. That is until
Blackburn managed to slip yet another goal past Arsenal goalie, Vito Mannone.
The goal came in the form of a kick from Blackburn's David Dunn, which deflected
off Arsenal's William Gallas to find the back of the home team's goal.
I wish I could report that Wenger's 'unhappy scowl' remained on his face for the
remainder of the match, but Arsenal dug deep and with the support of their fans
came back to thump the Rovers 6-2. The game showed yet again what a true asset
Spanish-born Fàbregas has turned to be for the London team.
In other games, Chelsea dispatched Liverpool 2-0 on Sunday at Stamford Bridge in
London. And while Liverpool fans are blaming manager, Rafa Benitez, for the
defeat, he is hoping 25-year-old Alberto Aquilani will be fit enough (after
recovering from an ankle injury) for Liverpool's next game at Sunderland.
And the pressure on Benitez is not just coming from the team's fans, as
Liverpool's two American co-owners, George Gillett and Tom Hicks, are also
reportedly not happy with the manager and may replace him if the team does not
turn its fortunes around soon. Sunday's loss was Liverpool's third this season.
Here are other English Premier League Football results from the weekend

Everton 1-1 Stoke City
West Ham Utd 2-2 Fulham
