Arsenal Beats Bolton 4-1 in English Premier League - 09-13-10

September 13 - It was an eventful weekend in the English Premier League which saw nine matches played across the UK, including Arsenal's notable 4-1 victory over the Bolton Wanderers at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

While there's no question that Arsenal's strikers and midfielders - including captain Cesc Fábregas - are in fine form, too often Bolton broke through Arsenal's defence, but missed many chances to improve on the final scoreline.

Perhaps part of the reason was the absence of Arsenal's injured Arsenal back, Thomas Vermaelen. However, there is little doubt that this week Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will concentrate on shoring up his team's defence.

That said, credit must go to Bolton who, coming into Saturday's game, were undefeated so far this season. And unlike Arsenal, Bolton's defence. was on fire as it foiled many more scoring opportunities from Arsenal's strikers.

In other England Premier League news, Manchester United's Saturday 3-3 draw with Everton did not sit well with the club's manic gum-chewing manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, who was reportedly left 'fuming' after the match.

The reason was that United threw away a 2-goal lead at Goodison Park, and in doing so deprived themselves of two precious League points. After the match, the Scotsman said he was 'surprised' that the team threw away the lead.

The match was the first since 1992 that Manchester United 'blew' a 2-point lead, which no doubt a red-faced Ferguson informed his players of in the dressing room. Wayne Rooney was not selected for Saturdays' game.

Here are the full English Premier League results from Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12, 2010:

Arsenal 4-1 Bolton
Fulham 2-1 Wolves
