July 13 - An attorney in the US state of Washington is taking the state to
court, claiming that the ban on online gambling in Washington is
unconstitutional.

Well known poker fan and attorney at law Lee Rousso filed a case that
attempts to overturn Washington State's ban on online gambling. The Federal
government is also caught up in international trade disputes over online gaming.
Rousso is reported to fancy his chances.
The ban has been in effect since June 2006, and upgraded the "crime" from
being a simple misdemeanor to a felony.
At this time there have been no prosecutions and Rousso has i9ndicated that
he would a change in the laws to make poker legal in the state.
Since the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA),
online gambling has also been illegal in the US, a notion challenged by the
World Trade Organization (WTO).
