December 4 - The English Premier League always generates an incredible amount of football betting interest, especially for the betting market that deals with the 2007/08 Barclays Premiership league winner. The same three clubs as usual dominate the table at this stage of proceedings: Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea. We've got the latest soccer betting moves from Centrebet.To give you an idea of how much money is wagered on the Premiership winner market - Betfair reports that $11,700,000 has already been "matched" by their users for the 07/08 league winner bet alone.
The latest betting is as follows:
Manchester United - 17/10 to win, or 2.7
Arsenal - 18/10 to win, or 2.8
Chelsea - 9/2 to win or 5.5
The only other team in with a shout appears to be Liverpool, who are currently trading at 7/1 - although realistically one of the three clubs above should earn the title.
Manchester United have the necessary squad depth to outlast their foes and win this year, but the early season form of Arsenal has been newsworthy. A young and largely untested group, they have played exceptional football to date, and have a real shot at winning another title for their brilliant coach, Arsene Wenger.
