June 15 - Finally formal discussions over a bill that would hopefully end the
lunacy of online gambling being banned in the US, Rep. Barney Frank has been
lobbying a new bill that would legalize, license and regulate online gambling
in the US.
He has urged people in America to get in touch with their local reps to get
their support.

Frank, a Democrat from Ma. urged people to "call your Representative and your Senators and tell them to get out of your
life."
Frank's bill, called "The Internet Gambling
Regulatory and Enforcement Act of 2007", would repeal the Internet
gambling ban passed in October last year in the US. It proposes regulation, and
only stands a chance if supported by the people of the US.
Frank went on to say that the average US citizen understands what has
happened as a result of the bill being enforced and said that the massage
conveyed to those in favor of the current bill has to be: 'listen you made a
mistake and you butt out of my business."
Opponents of the proposed bill say that its language would create a new Government
agency but Frank disagrees and stated that the existing Financial Crimes
Enforcement Network would be responsible for preventing money laundering.
He went on to question the reasons for the current bill and indicated that
there were more likely other reasons behind it than those stated.
'Smoke screening for drug
trafficking and money laundering was cited as a reason for the existing bill. I don't think those are the real reasons but they
were in there so we had to face them.'
