March 3 - BetCRIS has spent years building a brand in the United States as a leading sportsbook, but that was before being well known in the sports betting industry was a liability. Now, with offshore bookmaking operations under huge pressure CRIS has moved all it's US-facing operations to Bookmaker.com.

Online sportsbooks have reluctantly abandoned the lucrative US market, responsible for at least 70% of all sports betting wagers in the past. Sportingbet, Pinnacle, and the various VIP brands (including Nine.com) have all backed down as the reactionary forces at the DOJ continue to turn the screws.
Every online gambling arrest to date has been specifically connected to accepting bets on sporting events or facilitating sports betting. Many legal experts believe that it would be extremely difficult to prosecute an online casino or poker operator, but the Wire Act gives the US law enforcement their best angle at a conviction.
And so the sportsbook that sets the points spreads must now distance themselves from the United States. They are still trying to accommodate American clients with this latest move although one cannot help but wonder if this stop-gap measure will only provide temporary relief.
BetCRIS.com has migrated all existing USA accounts to Bookmaker.com, which offers an identical experience although the interface is a little darker. BetCRIS will now try and focus on what is fast becoming the only acronym that matters in sports betting: the ROW (Rest Of the World).
By the time of the next NFL season the online sportsbook landscape will have altered beyond recognition, and there will be very few players left at this rate. Bookmaker.com is now "where the line originates", the very lines that will still be published in USA Today for mass consumption, and one can only hope that they will stay the course and still face the US market.
