September 11 - Two European players have got the The first ever World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe
is underway and history has been made with the first bracelet beign awarded
outside of the United States, Two European poker players, both sponsored by
Betfair
Poker, each received a coveted bracelet.

The man who made history was Thomas "Buzzer" Bihl from German, a team Betfair.com
player. He took down the first WSOP Europe event for £70,875 and it was the much
respected multi game H.O.R.S.E. tournament. Well known and very popular poker
pro and two time bracelet winner Jennifer
Harman was the runner up. She will be steaming as she gave up a 2 to 1 chip lead
to a very patient Bihl.
The second bracelet winner was Dario Alioto of Palermo, Italy. He
won the £5,000 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha Championship for a first prize of
£234,390. The young Dario beat a strong field that included the likes of
Roland de Wolfe, Andy Bloch and Ted Forrest. A Hungarian player, Istvan Novak,
placed second for £137,280.
The WSOP Europe Main Event with a £10,000 buy-in will start later today at three
different venues namely the Casino at the Empire, The Sportsman and Fifty on St James? Street.
