August 17 - The First World Series of Poker
Europe will be run in London later this year and Betfair Poker is running online satellites
starting at $3.15.
Betfair will be giving away a guaranteed WSOP Europe package to the value of
$23,000 each Wednesday,
Friday and Sunday, and there are loads of qualifiers running all week long where
players can win a seat into the satellites. The qualifiers are available at
different stage levels.
In addition to the main tournaments, Betfair is also running Sit & Go
tourneys with massive first prizes of $23,000.
WSOPE kicks off on September 6 and comprises three tournaments - a $5,000 H.O.R.S.E., $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha and a $20,000 Main
Event with a maximum of 750 players. There are still a few seats up for
grabs.
The inners of each tournaments will win a prestigious WSOP gold bracelet.
Numerous poker pros are expected at the event including Phil Ivey, Doyle
Brunson, John Juanda, Jennifer Hardman and of course Phil Helmuth who is already
telling the world that he will make more history and win the first ever WSOP
bracelet outside of the US. There are apparently already a total of 60 bracelets
between the registrants.
