Big Five Blackjack Gold Review

Big Five Blackjack Gold is one of the latest Microgaming Gold upgrade games. It features improved playability and richer graphics. It is played with 5 regular decks of 52 cards. At the beginning of each hand the cards are shuffled. The dealer has to hit on soft 17, and blackjack beats any hand to the value of 21.

Big Five Blackjack Gold Rules

Late Surrender

When playing Big Five Blackjack Gold you are allowed a "Late Surrender" option - this is to surrender half your original bet in order to avoid playing out the rest of a potentially losing hand. A late surrender is however not allowed when the Dealer is showing an Ace.

Splitting Rules

  • If you Split a pair of Aces (or any pair of cards containing an Ace) and then draw a card with the value of 10, you do not have Blackjack, only 21.
  • Split up to 3 times to make 4 hands
  • Aces can only be split once.
  • If you Split a pair of Aces, each Ace may only receive one additional card, and then the hand must Stand

Double Down Rules

  • You can Double Down on any first two cards. The Double Down bet amount is equal to your original bet.
  • You may Double Down after a Split
  • You may not Double Down if you have a Blackjack

Insurance Rules

Insurance is not applicable to any second hands after a Split or a Double Down. Insurance pays you out at 2:1. If the Dealer ends up not having a Blackjack, you lose the value of the Insurance bet.
