BodogLife.com announced that its final Sunday $100,000 Guaranteed
online poker tournament of the year was contested by 756 players for the
$25,000 first prize and that a newbie to the poker room walked away with the
honours.

Novice player 'Bigmonte87' took home first prize in the popular tournament,
beating several regular starters like 'JoeMcGuire' and
'Catfish4U' who had both made at least one final table in this event. 'JoeMcGuire' eventually finished in fourth place and took home $6,900 while
'Catfish4U' won $3,500 after finishing in seventh spot followed by 'GraveDanger',
who won $2,500.
According to the poker room this was only the third time that 'Bigmonte87'
had cashed in a tournament.

PokerStars.com set a new world record last week
when over
20,000 players were playing at the site at the same time.
The new record was set at 20,386 simultaneous online poker players which is
the first time that the 20,000 mark was ever surpassed.
In the previous week, PokerStars.com eclipsed the previous record help by
Party Poker when over 19,900 concurrent players were logged on.
Party Poker withdrew from the US market as a result of the Unlawful
Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), but Pokerstars continues to welcome
US players. Pokerstars and their biggest competitor,
Full Tilt Poker, continue to be the two biggest online poker rooms and both
have doubled in size in the last year.
