November 4 - Last year, as you may recall, Zenyatta crushed the competition to rack up an impressive win in the Breeders Cup Ladies Classic (Gr 1) at Santa Anita Park in California and hasn't stopped winning since. In fact, this year she'll likely take on the lads in the coveted Breeders Cup Classic (Gr 1).

So without Zenyatta to defend her Breeders Cup Ladies Classic crown, who does that leave us with in this year's 1 1/8 mile race on Friday? Answer eight other formidable females who'll be vying to win the $2 million race, including race favorite, Music Note (8/5) who is trained by Goldolphin's S bin Suroor.
A 4-year-old filly, Music Note has been lightly race this year, but has chalked up some notable Gr 1 wins in New York and so should be able to hold her own over Santa Anita's Polytrack. She will be ridden by R Maragh. The second favorite is Careless Jewel (9/5), a 3-year-old filly who likes being in front.
Trainer J. Carroll has done an excellent job with her and jockey R C Landry should do her justice. Then there's Rainbow View (5/1), a 3-year-old filly who has more than proved herself over turf. Her trainer J. Gosden is confident she can replicate her form on Polytrack, especially with J R Leparoux aboard.
Despite being trained by S bin Suroor, 5-year-old mare Cocoa Beach (8/1) may be nearing retirement as she hasn't been able to replicate her last year's form this year. She'll have R Migliore aboard. Despite having G K Gomez aboard, 4-year-old filly Life is Sweet (10/1) could struggle against stronger rivals.
But if her trainer, J. Shirreffs has one hope for her, it's that she can find extra energy coming down the straight. Consistency is what 4-year-old filly Mushka (12/1) has going for her and even fluked a Gr 1 win. Trainer B Mott will be hoping for a repeat on Friday, particularly with champion jock K J Desormeaux up.
Proviso (15/1) impressed in her U.S. debut for trainer R. Frankel and is capable of speed. The 4-year-old filly will have J R Velazquez aboard. And finally, there is 4-year-old filly Lethal Heat (30/1), who despite being a longshot has the confidence of her trainer B. Abrams. She'll be ridden by talented A O Solis.
For our money, these are the three horses you should add to your Breeders Cup Ladies Classic Betting Picks: Careless Jewel, Lethal Heat and Music Note. If Lethal Heat finishes in the money, don't bother thanking us just send us a percentage. Happy wagering.
