November 17 - As reflected by the Chargers Bears lines at most leading land and online
sportsbooks, home team the Chicago Bears are the -3 point favorites (O/U 45)
against the visiting San Diego Chargers on Sunday in Week 11 of the NFL regular
season. While the Chicago Bears will be very eager to extend their current winning
streak to five games, the San Diego Chargers will be equally eager not to extend
their current four-game losing streak to five, which should make for an
exhilarating game.

San Diego Chargers are Bruised and Battered
After four straight losses, the bruised and battered Chargers must pull it
together against the Bears, which is no small order considering how many key
players San Diego has lost to injury. Already feeling the absence of injured
guard Kris Dielman, the Chargers added offensive tackle Marcus McNeill and guard
Louis Vasquez to the injured list last week. In that game against the Oakland Raiders on Thursday, the Chargers allowed six
sacks - a season-high for the team - which along with their four-game losing
streak, has set the alarm bells ringing. Consider that the last time San Diego
racked up a five-game losing streak was in 2003. But the reason for their woes
is simple - San Diego's offense cannot protect the ball.
And it won't help matters any that Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has had a
pretty dismal season thus far, leading the league with 15 interceptions and 19
turnovers. That said, he played well last week considering the amount of
pressure he was under, which may bode well for Sunday's game, despite the
Chargers Bears lines.
Chicago Bears are on a Winning Streak
After winning their fourth straight game last week, the Chicago Bears must be
feeling very good ahead of their Sunday game, especially as their opponents are
on a losing streak. But more importantly, the Bears will be feeling confident in
their abilities, particularly with regards to their defensive lineup, which is
currently firing on all cylinders. Consider how of late Chicago's defense has
been stopping rivals in their tracks as well as forcing many turnovers. They
have been scaring offensive lineups up and down the country, and there is no
reason why they won't send the Chargers' back to San Diego with their tails
between their legs after Sunday's showdown.
After starting out the season on a lackluster 2-3, many critics thought the
Bears had blown the season as well as their playoff hopes, but the Bears had
other ideas. Adopting a never-say-die attitude, the team from Chicago embarked
on a winning streak, which will more likely than not continue this weekend.
Chargers Bears Prediction
Short of Chicago being swept up by a giant Tsunami on Sunday, we find it hard
to imagine that the Chargers have a hope in hell of beating the Bears. And for
that reason, we're putting our NFL betting bucks firmly on the home team, as per
the Chargers Bears lines.
