October 29 - This past weekend saw loads of heated English Premier League
football action as the best football teams from across the UK went to do battle,
and although there were many great matches, and even greater performances from
players and teams alike, there were two main highlights for me.

The first was watching Chelsea barbecue Blackburn Rovers 5-0. Now please don't
get me wrong. I love Chelsea and I love the Rovers. I just love Chelsea
more. To watch them go to town on Blackburn was not unlike watching a Doberman
taking on a Chihuahua at Michael Vick's house back in the day.
Back showcasing his incredible talent was Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole who has
been out of the English Premier League for the past 10 months due to injury. If
he needed time to adjust on Saturday, I missed it. He played like everyone
wishes David Beckham would play in the World Cup. He was that good.
But don't take my word for it. Here's what Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti had
to say, 'We were impressed because I know how hard Joe has worked in the last
months. He's showed great professionalism. I am happy for him and I’m happy for
us because he's a very important player. He is a genius.'
As for the game, the Rovers played like they were the only people not on
daylight saving time. And regarding highlights, for Chelsea fans it was their
catchy 'five one' chant as they left the stadium. For Blackburn fans, it was the
final whistle, giving them an excuse to end their embarrassment and/or tears.
The second highlight was watching Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger grow more worry
lines by the second as his cocky team almost threw away their game against West
Ham United. After creating a 2-0 lead the gunners looked like they had the game
sewn up, but a gutsy West Ham it seemed had other ideas.
Lets go back a few weeks, to when Arsenal returned to London, tails between
their legs after their trip to Manchester resulted in back to back losses
against Manchester United and Manchester City respectively. To the gunners'
credit, however, they managed to pull it together and won their next four games.
So perhaps their resulting over-confidence got the better of them against West
Ham on Sunday. Despite being 2-0 up, a flurry of mistakes and missed
opportunities allowed the home team to make it 2-2. If Arsene Wenger could have
frowned any more, his would face would have crumbled like a ginger biscuit.
I won't bore you with the rest of the game suffice to say that the gunners were
lucky not to have left the stadium with their tails once again between their
legs. And no doubt, wrinkly Wenger would have had strong words for the lads
after the game. Something like: 'Lads, ze English Premier League iz not for
zissies.'
Here are the English Premier League Football results from Saturday,
