Before the start of last season we stated that this team would be headed in a downward direction but even we were surprised by how far they fell. It was a case of post-Super Bowl loss blues as the once proud D was shredded and the team cobbled together only 7 SU and ATS wins in the entire season. They were poor on both sides of the ball and their stats suggest they were lucky to end up with 7 wins. Injuries took a big toll, but every team must deal with that in the NFL. Not every team had to deal with Grossman under center, and that was a hurdle impossible to overcome.

The Bears had a great draft, but the schedule is very hard on them early on in the season and if they're better than 1-3 after the first 4 weeks we'll be pleasantly surprised. They've finally lost faith in Rex, which is good, but are going with Orton, which isn't overly exciting. He makes less mistakes and that should be enough to see this team sputter along to another season of 7 or 8 wins. We advise betting against them in the first 4 games and betting on them down the stretch when they have 3 December home games that should favor them in brutal weather conditions.
