February 15 - Online poker and online casino software provider, CryptoLogic, reported
record breaking financial figures for the year 2006. Revenue was up by 21
percent, up to $104 million and the years profits rose to $24 million.
As others in the industry are facing a downward spiral due to the
passing in the USA of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act,
CryptoLogic have defied everyone by posting positive figures. This is due to the
fact that CryptoLogic and its operators have been focusing their efforts outside
of the USA way before the act was passed. By making sure that its
operators stopped taking on US players and focusing their efforts in countries
where online gambling is still permitted, CryptoLogic has ensured that they are
the dominating force in Europe
CryptoLogic's growth seems to be continuing strongly with a number of new
online casinos due for release in the short term. Of most interest are the
online casinos for Holland Casinos, the government owned casinos in the
Netherlands. In the long term the Asian market will be targeted.
CryptoLogic is well known for powering such casinos as InterCasino.
