Cryptologic Single Player Pontoon is played with 8 standard decks of
52 cards. The cards are shuffled after each hand is completed. Pontoon is similar
to blackjack, and what is known as a Blackjack (an Ace with a 10) is called
a Pontoon. This hand wins in the same way that a Blackjack does. Besides having
the highest total under 21, the other way to win is to obtain a hand containing
5 cards adding up to 21 or less. This also pays out at 2/1. Another difference
to note is that the Dealer wins all ties. The player is forced to hit on any
hand of hard 14. Note that both the dealer's cards are dealt face down, and
there is thus no Insurance option.
