2006/07 Record: 9-7. Playoff loss to the Seahawks.
2006/07 Verdict: It was a rollercoaster ride for the Cowboys and ultimately it proved a little too nauseating for Bill Parcells as he parted ways with the Cowboys, now more Jones' Team than America's Team. The playoff loss was pretty spectacular but one feels that Romo will put that snafu behind him. He was certainly confident and impressive as he led the Cowboys back from the wilderness that was an immobile Drew Bledsoe. The offense played very well and although the strength of schedule was pretty soft this was a genuine 9-7 team.
2007/08 Mycapper.com Prediction: UP
Wade Phillips won't get in the way of Jerry Jones but he does know how to coach a D like nobody's business. Whether he can handle "personalities" like Owens and Romo remains to be seen. But the fact remains that Dallas is one step away from being a very strong football club, and that step could well be taken this season with Romo and the defense set to improve. Our view is that Dallas will win the NFC East and could go fairly deep in the playoffs. They certainly have good sleeper value. The Cowboys do have to deal with the AFC East, which promises tough games for them, but so does the rest of their division. They're worth following ATS when they take on NFC teams.
