July 10 - The top poker players in the world continue to rise to the top at the 2006 World Series Of Poker. David Williams, who plays all his online poker exclusively at Bodog Poker, is the latest big name player to win a WSOP bracelet when he defeated a final table that included poker legend Johnny Chan.
Willams, best known for finishing second to Greg Raymer in the 2004 WSOP main event and for his appearance in a foot fetish adult film, captured the $1,500 buy-in Seven-Card Stud event at the 2006 WSOP.
There was a lot of buzz around this final table as Johnny Chan made it to the final eight, and was bidding for a record-breaking 11th WSOP title. The eleventh bracelet would have given him one more than Doyle Brunson (the two are currently tied with 10 apiece).
It was not to be for Chan, however, as he busted out in 7th place. Williams went on to win the event and pocket a cool $163,189 for his efforts. He was very emotional following the win describing it as the best day of his life.
You can play heads-up against David Williams only at Bodog's Poker room. They have great software and plenty of contests and promotions, and it is one of the best stand-alone online poker rooms in our opinion.
