2006/07 Record: 9-7.
2006/07 Verdict: The wheels fell off for the Broncos as they started 7-2, suffered a final crisis of faith in Jake Plummer (a good thing), and although they ended the season 2-5 they were able to blood Jay Cutler who showed immense promise in the final five games (a very good thing). His QB rating of 88.5 plus a 9/5 TD/INT ratio augur very well for the following season. They may well have missed the playoffs but the long term prospects for this club look very healthy indeed.
2007/08 Mycapper.com Prediction: UP
If you asked pundits to list possible Super Bowl teams from the AFC the list would start with the Patriots and the Colts and then probably go to the Chargers. But the Broncos should be added to that list, and we expect them to compete with San Diego for the division crown. In addition they will be a better playoff team than the Chargers because of superior coaching, and they're psychologically a tougher bunch as well. The Broncos are going to capture national attention this year with a very good running game (Travis Henry will do well behind one of the best O-lines for rushing) and a QB who could turn out to be one of the NFL's elite in Cutler. This is a team to bet on in 07/08 and you should also take the OVER for regular season total wins right now in NFL futures betting.
