2006/07 Verdict: This organization is run by clowns and the team they field certainly doesn't disappoint from a comical perspective. The 06/07 Lions featured no defense, a terrible QB, and a veritable slew of wide receivers. The only problem is that a wide receiver, no matter how talented, can never have a franchise built around him because he has no game-breaking ability on his own. Matt Millen never seems to understand this - a running back can change a game, and a QB can as well, but the Lions have no one to get the ball to all their vaunted draft picks. The team is, however, ready to play hard for their coach, but going 0-6 SU and 1-5 ATS in division games will cripple your season every time.
2007/08 Mycapper.com Prediction: UP
The team can only get better, and there might be some small betting value taking the points with the Lions in very select spots. But there is no reason to get too excited because we're still talking about a terrible defense, and a quarterback that has proven he cannot win at this level regardless of how pleasant and spiritual he may be off the field. We look for an improved performance in division games and perhaps a 6 win season is not beyond the realms of possibility - anything more than that would be truly surprising. We predict that Matt Millen will keep his job. After all, if he hasn't been fired for what he's done so far then short of burning down the stadium and/or going 0-16 he won't be fired this season either.
