October 27 - Fans of the Miami Dolphins will be hoping for a miracle on Sunday, as their
winless team (0-6) travels to the Big Apple to take on the New York Giants (4-2)
in what could be a long and painful game. As such, it's not surprising that NFL
bookmakers have installed the Dolphins as the +9.5 point underdogs (O/U 43.5)
in the Dolphins Giants betting odds. Moneyline: Dolphins (+390), Giants (-520). Wager on the 2011 NFL Regular
Season and you could win a trip for two to Super Bowl XLVI at

Although there will undoubtedly be many NFL betting fans who will skip this
game given how poorly the Miami Dolphins have kicked off the 2011-12 NFL season,
many will keep an eye on the game, hoping it's the one where Miami starts to
turn its fortunes around. And even though that may seem unlikely, we have still
compiled the following Dolphins Giants Preview.
Miami's Worst Start in Four Seasons
There are few football coaches in the world - if any at all - that would like to
be in the shoes of Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano, considering his team has
kicked off the season with six losses from six games. In fact, this is Miami's
worst start in four seasons, and if Sparano fails to turn it around, expect to
see him being given his marching orders in the very near future. Unfortunately the odds are stacked high against Sparano and the Dolphins on
Sunday. One, they'll be playing a team with a 4-2 record and who are leading the
NFC East division. Two, they will be playing away from home. Three, their rivals
may start several top players who have returned from injury. And four, they have
still not solved their consistency problem.
Consider how last week Miami looked set to rack up their first win against
Denver with a 15-point lead, before the wheels fell off, and the Broncos rallied
to score two TDs with 2:44 left on the clock, and a 52-yard field goal in
overtime for a 18-15 victory. Miami needs a major overhaul on both sides of the
ball if they have any hope of salvaging the season. As it is, they risk being
junked on Sunday.
The Giants Are Leading The NFC East
The Giants will likely be licking their lips ahead of Sunday's game against the
Dolphins, because they have just about everything going for them. For instance,
as the current NFC East leaders, on Sunday they could welcome back key players
including DE Justin Tuck, G Chris Snee, CB Prince Amukamara and RB Brandon
Jacobs, who have all been on the injured list. Some of these players will help to bolster the Giants' offense, which
surrendered 388.6 yards on average in their last three games, But when it comes
to the Giants' defense, they should be in good shape against the Dolphins,
proven by the way they secured a 27-24 win over the Bills last time out. Plus
the Giants will be well-rested after coming off their bye week.
Of course, with so much in the favor of the Giants, and the Dolphins with
nothing to lose, the home team still needs to be vigilant on Sunday. The reason
being that many top NFL teams have fallen short against weaker teams over the
years as a result of being over-confident.
Dolphins Giants Prediction
On paper the Giants should crush the Dolphins like a bag of pretzels. But it'll
be interesting to see how the visitors conduct themselves considering they have
nothing to lose, and their head coach won't be afraid to try anything
considering his derriere is on the line. That said, the Giants have been playing
far too well of late to let this game get away from them.
