Eagles Giants Points Spread Update for NFL Betting - 12-12-09
December 12 - The 8-4 Eagles travel to the 7-5 Giants on Sunday night in a national televised game that is sure to attract a lot of NFL betting attention from the squares to the wiseguys.
Philadelphia are tied for first in the competitive NFC East with Dallas, but the Giants are only a game behind despite playing poor football in recent weeks. The Eagles have dominated this series recently, winning the last three meetings, so if you believe in the revenge factor you should bet on New York.
The spread for this game opened with the Giants as narrow -1 point favorites, and most offshore books are still trading the game at the same price. The Eagles haven't swept the Giants since 2004, so precedent is also with New York who would ordinarily be favored by more points as they are at home.
The total points market is skewed towards Under bettors so far. The total opened high at 47.5 points but was quickly moved down to 44 points. There could still be value taking the Under here.
