September 22 - As always, the weekend's English Premier League Football
results had all the ingredients that make football great, including skill,
style, goals, near misses, drama, victories and defeats. Arguably, one of the
most watched games this weekend was the derby between Man United and Man City.

And watching the game live, you could tell how important it was simply by the
grim expression on the weather-beaten face of Manchester United's gum-toting
manager, Sir Alex Ferguson. This was one match his team could not afford to
lose, which ultimately it did not, beating Manchester City by 4-3.
But as soon as the game got underway, it soon became apparent that both teams
meant business. This made for a superb match for the tens of thousands of lucky
ticket holders at Man United's legendary Old Trafford stadium and the hundreds
of millions more watching the game live on TV around the world.
As expected, the teams were pretty evenly matched and by the 90th, the score was
tied at 3-3. But it was Manchester United's Michael Owen who turned out to be
the 'man of the match' when, in the 96th minute, he made it 4-3, after
redirecting a solid pass by Wayne Rooney into the back of the Man City net.
Surprisingly, if there was any unpleasantness in the match, it happened after
Owen's incredible goal when an over-zealous Man United fan charged the field and
was subsequently tackled. But then as he was being lead away by security, he was
pushed/hit across the face by Man City midfielder, Craig Bellamy.
And despite his club standing behind him, Bellamy faces a three-match ban for
his curious 'pitch rage' incident. Other notable results from the weekend
include Chelsea's 3-0 trouncing of Tottenham. Chelsea's goal scorers were Ashley
Cole (31 min), Michael Ballack (57 min) and Didier Drogba (62 min).
Still smarting from their 2-1 loss to Manchester City on the previous weekend,
Arsenal took their frustrations out on Wigan Athletic, thumping them by a solid
4-0. Arsenal's goal scorers were Thomas Vermaelen (24 min), Thomas Vermaelen (48
min), Da Silva Eduardo (58 min) and Francesc Fabregas (89 min).
Here are all the English Premier League Football results from the weekend
of September 19 and 20:

Chelsea 3-0 Tottenham
Burnley 3-1 Sunderland
