August 9 - English football fans devastated by their national team's poor performance in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa a few weeks ago, will find solace in the kick off of the 2010-11 English Premier League season this week.
Instead of worrying about one manager, England's beleaguered Fabio Cappelo, English football fans can now turn their attention to the managers of the teams they support, and those of their fiercest rivals in the country's top football tier.
Football fans across England will be looking for big results this English Premier League season, particularly fans of those teams with enormous budgets and expensive players. One such team is Manchester United a.k.a. the Red Devils.
Managed by serial gum chewer Sir Alex Ferguson, Man U will be on a mission this season to regain the English Premier League crown after they let it slip out of their grasp to top-rated London club, Chelsea FC, at the end of last season.
Manchester United, which won three English Premier League titles in a row, were prevented from making it four last year by the determined Blues. And as Man United will be eager for revenge, so too will Chelsea to make it two in a row.
But don't rule out Arsenal this season. Despite losing focus at the end of last season, the Gunners still managed to finish third in the English Premier League and, like Manchester United, will be eager to show Chelsea the door in the floor.
Just 5 points behind Arsenal in fourth last season, was Tottenham Hotspur, a club that has come on in leaps and bounds in recent years, and which under the tutelage of its superb manager, Harry Redknapp, could be a threat this season.
