July 5 - There is little doubt that the sport of football (soccer to out American chums) is extremely fickle, judging by how manager, players and even owners come and go. Take the English Premier League, where change is constant.
Especially at the end of the season, where the English Premier League club owners take stock of the season and decide who stays and who goes. Take former Liverpool coach, Rafael Benítez, who was forced to take the walk of shame.
After six years with Liverpool, its owners decided it was time for Benitez to go after the club only came seventh in the English Premier League, and go he did, straight into a two-year contract with current UEFA and Serie A champs, Inter Milan.
And no sooner had Benítez cleared out his office at Anfield, then the position of Liverpool manager was taken by English manager Roy Hodgson, who famously led the Swiss national football team to the last 16 of the 1994 World Cup.
No stranger to the English Premier League, Hodgson managed Fulham FC for three years, the pinnacle of his success being when he led Fulham to last season's Europa League final, where it was dispatched by La Liga side, Atletico Madrid.
