And now those rumors appear to be founded. as more and more players are reporting emails from their poker rooms.

On Friday, Cake Poker customers received an e-mail saying that they can no longer use this method. Since then reports have come in from Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars.

This was a Full Tilt Poker message that did the rounds:

"You received this email because you have made a deposit using ePassporte. We have recently been notified by ePassporte that they are no longer able to facilitate deposits or withdrawals between ePassporte and Full Tilt Poker player accounts. We apologize for this inconvenience which is unfortunately outside of our control."

At the time of writing, ePassporte had made not formal statement.

Good news that has rolled in was that that a new method called PokerEcheck.com was already in testing with both  PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker to provide an alternate option to for people in the United States.

"It is not clear what the capabilities of this method will be but a company pores release stated that it can be used to make instant deposit and withdrawals in some instances.

Other methods currently available at Full Tilt Poker include Instant eChecks as a deposit and withdrawal method. This method facilitates transfer from personal accounts to online poker sites without the need to establish an online e-wallet.

The news now adds ePassporte to a list of payment providers who have left the US including NETeller, EcoCard, Citadel and FirePay.
