Houston Texans (2-1 straight up, 2-0-1 against the spread) at Atlanta Falcons (0-3, 1-2)
Texans are favorites for only the 12th time in franchise history, and their record so far is a less than compelling 4-7 ATS. But not only are the Falcons awful this year they're also 3-15 ATS when they host an opponent with a winning record.
NY Jets (1-2, 1-1-1) at Buffalo Bills (0-3, 1-2)
The New York Jets almost never seem to cover the spread when they are favored on the road at the Bills, going 1-8 ATS the last 9 times. Buffalo has actually cashed five of its last seven games overall against the Jets.
Green Bay Packers (3-0, 3-0) at Minnesota Vikings (1-2, 1-1-1)
The Vikings are surprisingly small underdogs but that's because they have a few trends in their favor. Minnesota have covered nine of their last twelve against Green Bay. The underdog has covered in this rivalry an amazing sixteen of the last seventeen games. The Vikings tend to bring home the cash in their second home game of the season (9 of 11 ATS the last eleven seasons).
Oakland Raiders (1-2 SU, 1-2 ATS) at Miami Dolphins (0-3 SU, 0-1-2 ATS)
Oakland finally won a game last time out but that was at home, and they have dropped their last dozen road games. When favored at home by 3.5 points or more Miami has lost eight of its last nine games, both SU and ATS. The Dolphins have enjoyed a lot of recent success against the Raiders, however, covering the spread in the last six meetings between these clubs.
Chicago Bears (1-2, 0-3) at Detroit Lions (2-1, 1-1-1)
This is another division rivalry game where the underdog has cashed in at a profitable pace historically winning 10 of the last 15 clashes ATS. The Bears have now failed to cash in their last six regular season NFL games, but note that the team that wins SU here usually covers as well (27-5-2).
Baltimore Ravens (2-1, 0-3) at Cleveland Browns (1-2, 2-1)
The underdog fares well in this rivalry game with an 8-3 record in the last 11 meetings. The home team is also 6-2 against the spread in the last 8. The Browns have covered the last three times against the Ravens, and are also 3-0 ATS at home when playing Baltimore.
St Louis Rams (0-3, 0-3) at Dallas Cowboys (3-0, 3-0)
A lot of money will come for Dallas in this game, but before you bet the house on the Cowboys keep in mind that Dallas is 8-16 the last 24 times they have been favored by 10 points or more, and have come out flat in the past when playing after straight up wins as an underdog (4-9 ATS following those upset victories). But St Louis is dismal against non-division opposition with a 9-26-2 ATS record, and they're off to an awful start this year.
New England Patriots (3-0, 3-0) at Cincinnati Bengals (1-2, 1-1-1)
The good news for the Bengals is that they have cashed in at a 6-2 clip when they are dogs of +6 or more, and now for the bad news. They're playing the best team in football with a 9-1 ATS record immediately following wins by 10 points or more in division games. The Patriots are also 13-2 ATS if they're coming off two consecutive straight up wins. The Bengals are 1-7 on MNF against non-division foes.
