October 20 - Third party contractors are being blamed for a recent
barrage of spam from the online casinos owned by the group. It is surprising
that the group don't seem to be reacting at all about complaints...
Many players have been complaining about repeated spam from what appears to
be a third party contractor. More experienced users have traced some of the
emails and posted them on popular message forums. To make matters worse, many
players are complaining about receiving the same messages numerous times per
day. The bizarre thing is that many of these players have are already members of
some of the casinos being promoted, so it makes little sense to send them sign
up offers.
The mails do have an "unsubscribe" link, but it apparently does not work. The
emails just keep on coming.
With recently updated laws about spam in the US, Fortune Lounge themselves
could end up in trouble, making it more bizarre that they are no commenting and
apparently not taking action. The only communication from them has been that
Fortune Lounge has no control over this third party. (Ed: Yeah right, How about
shutting their accounts). That amounts to blatant disregard for players.
Some disgruntled players have reported the emails, resulting in some ISP
blocking emails that have anything to do with the group.
So is this an issue of commercial gain vs ethics? You be the judge.
