Golden Palace Online Casino Sponsors Gurning Competition - 09-21-07

September 21 -  The World Gurning Championships took place at the Egremont crab apple fair (excuse me while I LMAO) which is said to date back to 1267. Don't feel too embarrassed if you've never heard of gurning. It's not one of those things you'd be expected to know at a dinner party when amongst a bunch of know it alls. Gurning is the "art" of contorting one's face.

Golden Palace is well known for buying bizarre things like the Pope's old car and a sandwich resembling Jesus' face. They have also sponsored streakers at major sporting events to it's little surprise that they would associate themselves with people pulling funny faces.

42 of the world's best face pullers (sorry, "Gurner's") took part in the Golden Palace world gurning competition. The crowd watched in awe (and probably some disgust) as Tommy Mattinson, a gurning great and champion for an the last 10th years, kept up his good gurning form and pulled himself to another trophy. The second idiot, sorry gurner, was Gordon Blacklock, and third was Alan (Happy) Hornell.

The judging process is a bit dodgy as it all depends on who the crowd cheers the loudest for.

Richard Rowe, the Golden Palace CEO, said: "People pulled funny faces when they heard Golden Palace was sponsoring the event". Golden Palace is also known for purchasing, Britney Spears' Pregnancy Test, and William Shatner's Kidney Stone. In their defense they have donated money made from  selling their weird artifacts to charity.
