July 14 - In a recent research project conducted by scientists at the Harvard medical school,
it was reported that female gamblers playing for high stakes are more successful
and win more frequently than their mail counterparts when betting on sports
events. The study made use of data supplied by the Austrian online gaming
company Bwin.com.

The project sampled 40,499 people and revealed that women with more effective
at gambling on sports than men. The project was partially funded by Bwin and
will be released publicly soon.
A number of interesting conclusions were drawn during the eight month period
of the project. Gamblers were studied over a period of eight months during 2005.
Women were surprisingly found to bet up to 15% more cash on average. Women were
also found to be 50% less likely to lose their bets.
Editor: I have no idea why they needed a study. I could have told them
that men are more emotional about sports and are hence more likely to make
emotional betting decisions. Not rocket science, really ;)
