The Chiefs went 4-12 straight up last season as was expected, but they kept a lot of those losses very close and won 7 games against the spread. MyCapper.com predicts their chances for the upcoming season.

2007/08 Verdict:
Last season our Kansas City Chiefs betting preview didn't predict that the Chiefs would fall to pieces, but that is exactly what happened. The defense was very solid and never gave up but this was a terrible offense, anchored in the worst sense by two inept QBs, both of whom are still there. The offensive line is a lot stronger this season thanks to a great draft and the only way for this team to go is up. They were 4-4 before losing the last 8 straight games. They did cover 3 times during that losing streak.
2008/09 Mycapper.com NFL Betting Prediction: UP
The Chiefs had a fantastic draft, but that won't matter much this season. Three years down the line the team should be contending once again but for now they'll take 8 wins and probably settle for 7. From a betting perspective there could be value taking this team in select spots. They should be tough at home and when they are favored this team covers at a 62% clip (past 3 seasons combined). That spells big profits and there is no reason for that trend to alter - the problem is that they won't be favored all that often with their 100/1 odds of getting to the Super Bowl.
