Whilst video slots in general offer plenty of entertainment, this particular game brings a little more to the table. Quite frankly, it's hilarious! Set in Chinatown, Kung Fu Fighter sees a bunch of apes battling it out in the martial arts arena for top honors. One look at the whacky characters and you will understand what I am going on about. There are an array of monkeys, gorillas and baboons, all of varying ages and genders, and all with their own specific charm.

Fundamental game play requires that players secure 3 or more, but preferably 5 of these symbols across any of the 15 paylines in order to win coins. There are 31 win combinations in this 5 reel slot, with a top jackpot of 25 000 coins. The Kung Fu Fighter icon acts as a wild, and substitutes for all symbols except the scatter symbols. Whilst this is exciting and enthralling in itself, the fun really only begins when scatter combinations are awarded.

The first scatter combination is that of the Gong symbol, which needs to appear on reels 1 & 5 during any given spin. This activates 10 free spins where all wins are doubled. The free game feature can be retriggered with the reappearance of the gong scatters.

The second scatter combination requires that 3 Chinatown icons fall on reels 2, 3 and 4. This launches the bonus feature round where money is up for grabs and humor abounds. In this round, players are invited to make a selection on which animated character they feel will fair best in a Kung Fu showdown. If they choose correctly and win their respective fights, they are gifted with coins and advanced to the next round. If they choose unsuccessfully, at least the entertainment value of watching head-to-head ape combat is worth it!

Kung Fu Fighter may not offer as many paylines and win combinations as other Microgaming slots, but the jackpot is relatively high and the fun value even better.
