October 15 - Ladbrokes has been ranked as a world leader in sustainability by
the. The DJSI is based on the annual global SAM analysis of corporate economic,
environmental and social performance and it ranked Ladbrokes as the leading
gambling company for sustainability, one of only 2 gambling companies worldwide
to be included in the index.
317 companies worldwide are recognised in the index, which assesses issues
such as corporate governance, risk management, branding, climate change
mitigation, supply chain standards and labour practices. It looks at both
general and industry specific sustainability criteria for each of the 58 sectors
defined according to the Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB).
Ladbrokes ranked highly in the index for its human resources practices,
anti-money laundering and crime prevention policies and systems, operational
eco-efficiency and for promoting responsible gambling.
Commenting on the recognition by DJSI Chief Executive Christopher Bell
commented: "Corporate responsibility runs through everything we do and I'm
