Lord of the Rings Slots to be Launched by Microgaming - 02-04-10

February 6 - Only weeks after releasing its fantastic Hellboy slots game to the online gambling world, software giant Microgaming has made another exciting announcement about a new release.

Microgaming said that it has signed a lucrative multi year licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Digital Distribution that will see the group create new slot games based on the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy.

Microgaming's ability to license top brands with instant customer recognition has proven itself once again through this announcement.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy, based on the books by JRR Tolkien, and directed by Peter Jackson, generated a mind boggling $3 billion in box office revenues.

Furthermore, the trilogy's movies: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, were nominated for an incredible thirty Academy Awards.

The movies won 17 awards in total, including the award for Best Picture.

With this type of history, there is no doubt that slot games based on the movies will be a roaring success, and Microgaming seems to be have tapped into one of the greatest brands around.
