Manchester City Face Everton in English Premier League - 12-20-10

December 20 - Tonight (Monday, December 20), Manchester City, who are second in the English Premier League, take on number fifteen club Everton in what should be an interesting match, despite the subzero conditions.

Although Jack Frost has the UK firmly in his icy grip, the English Premier League continues to heat up as the season progresses, and a win tonight for hosts Manchester City could put them ahead of joint second team, Arsenal.

While there is no doubt English Premier League oddsmakers will favor City ahead of tonight's matchup, there are pros and cons to both teams. One for the hosts is the speculation regarding their unhappy captain Carlos Tevez.

The Argentinean forward shocked fans in Manchester when he made it clear that he wanted to leave the club as soon as possible. And despite discussions with the team, Tevez appears to be unwavering in his intentions.

The repercussions of this are twofold. First, Tevez may or may not be in the starting lineup tonight. But if he isn't, City will be without his valuable skills. Second, Tevez's decision may have a negative affect on team morale.

Morale that has already been dented with the news that Emmanuel Adebayor and Mario Balotelli are also seeking to leave. So manager Roberto Mancini will have his hands full keeping his side positive ahead of tonight's game.

Everton, meanwhile, have their own demons to reconcile, especially being just two points away from relegation. Add to that the fact they've scored just 18 goals this season and won a paltry 3 out of 17 matches, 2 of those at home.

That said, Everton have won the last three matches against City in Manchester. And if they want to make it four, they'll have to figure out how to make do without injured Michael Johnson and banned Nigel De Jong.

Visit now to place your bets on this game. Here are the odds:

Man City to win 7/10
Draw 13/5
Everton to win 4/1
