Microgaming Poker Network Bad Beat Jackpot Soars - 07-12-08

July 12 - The Microgaming Poker Network's Bad Beat Jackpot is currently at over $200,000 - 35% more than ever before.

The jackpot becomes active when hands of Four-of-a-Kind, from 8's upwards get beaten. To qualify for the Bad Beat jackpot four or more players must be active in the hand and the hand must be a raked, real money hand which contributes to the Bad Beat jackpot. The best hand of the winner and the loser must include the hole cards, and the hand must go to a showdown.

50 cents is collected from each qualifying / contributing hand, and is taken from the pot as the hand is raked. Jackpot contributions are accumulated, with the value displayed in the lobby and on every table until the Jackpot is won. Only certain tables contribute to the BB jackpot and players can only participate in the jackpot if they are active in the hand when it is hit.

The jackpot amount is distributed as follows:

• 50 percent goes to the poor sod who suffers the Bad Beat
  
• 25 percent goes to the person who won the had in question
  
• 25 percent is split among all the players who were in the hand
  
• 20 percent goes towards the next Jackpot
  
• 10 percent goes towards administration
