The Vikings have been a mediocre team for the past three seasons and last year was no different as they went .500 SU and ATS as well. No team could run against Minnesota last season as they finished 2nd against the run and no team was better running the football, as they finished 1st in yards per rush. And yet they still missed the playoffs. The QB situation did not help, leading to their middle of the road overall offensive stats. We predicted that this team wouldn't make the playoffs and got that right.

This year we feel that the team could be poised to improve. For one thing the rest of the division is very unimposing. The Packers could take a while to gel, although they should still win the division, and the Bears and Lions could also struggle. The Vikings will still dominate when the ball is on the ground, and their defense is better as they have a genuine pass rusher in Jared Allen. That could make all the difference and we expect this team to win more than they lose this season. They'll be decent betting value at home.
