| March 31 - Final Four betting odds at leading
US facing sports betting site,
Sportsbook.com, has North Carolina as the
undisputed favorite at 4/5 odds. Connecticut are at 5/2, Michigan State at
5/1 and Villanova at 6 to 1.
The North Carolina
Tar Heels are vying for their fifth national title. They have been the favorite to
win it this year, even before that tournament started. North Carolina tasted victory in 1957, 1982, 1993 and
gain in 2006. The same team were the outright favorites last year but lost to Kansas
and did not make the Final.
The money has North
Carolina favorite by 7.5 points over Villanova with the total at 160. Connecticut is a slim 4 point
favorite over Michigan State with a total of 135.
Many basketball fans expect North Carolina t win.
They have been the form team and won their first four matchups by more than 20
points. They will no doubt remain the favorite if they make it though to the
final by beating Villanova. This will be a record 18th appearance for the Tar
Heels in the Final Four.
Connecticut won in1999 and 2004, and Michigan
State were victorious in 1979 and in 2000. The 1979 team included the
legendary Magic Johnson who defeated Indiana State who had Larry
Bird in their lineup. This is the 5th time in the last 11 years that Michigan
State is in the Final Four.
There is no surprise in the Final Four as
these were the four teams that most people expected to make it
through.
