NCAA Championship Final Could Be A Betting Classic - 04-06-08
April 6 - The 2008 NCAA Championship is expected to generate substantial betting action at online sportsbooks according to the latest surveys as sports fans appear evenly split between the chances of the Kansas Jayhawks and the Memphis Tigers.

In fact this NCAA Tournament Final could lead to record wagering volumes based on the betting stats for this year's version of March Madness, which ultimately went to form with four number 1 seeds filling the Final Four bracket for the first time in the storied history of the tourney.
In yesterday's Final Four games Memphis were too strong for UCLA while Kansas shocked everyone by blowing out North Carolina early, then weathered one of the best college hoops comebacks in recent memory, only to run out relatively comfortable winners.
The latest NCAA Championship betting sees plenty of fluctuations in the odds. The spread opened with Kansas favored by a single point but a flood of early money for Memphis now has them installed as favorites by -2 points.
There has also been a lot of early betting support for the "Over" in the total points market. The number opened at 144 combined points but that was snapped up immediately and it is currently trading at 146 points. Both teams have a lot of offensive talent, although the Jayhawks showed that their D is pretty stingy as well.
Our prediction is that the Memphis Tigers will win it all in '08 while the game might well produce less points than the odds suggest, so take the 'Under' in a contrarian play.
