2006/07 Record: 12-4 AFC Championship loss to the Colts.
2006/07 Verdict: The stats tell you all you need to know about the Pats. Facing a brutal schedule they put up stellar numbers across the board, and fell one game short of another trip to the Super Bowl. Quite simply this is the most complete team in the NFL, and certainly the best coached. If they played softer teams their numbers would have been off the charts.
2007/08 Mycapper.com Prediction: UP
There is a lot of buzz about the Patriots' chances in 07/08 and it's warranted. With Randy Moss as a legitimate deep threat the team has an added dimension and as long as they stay healthy it will be a return to the playoffs at the very least. Two of their division rivals are wobbly (Bills, Dolphins), but they do have to play the AFC North, which means three tough games. We think they'll finish with more than 12 SU wins but you need to be smart about betting this team ATS. The Patriots demolish teams when the total points number posted is less than 37 points. If the focus of a game is defensive (as it will be in the majority of their division games, or when the weather is bad) they are 21-2 ATS, so take them when a battle is forecast. This is not a flashy team, so resist the urge to bet them if a blowout is needed, or if they're overvalued due to their reputation.
