2007/08 Verdict:
Last year we predicted that the Patriots would win more than 12 games but even we could not foresee the unlikely perfect sixteen-game season. It was a triumph for the most complete team in the league (a fact which we pointed out before the season began) but it was overshadowed by their shock Super Bowl loss. The Patriots did not always offer great ATS value, as was the case in the final game against the Giants, and finished the regular season with a 10-6 ATS record. Many of their games also exploded in terms of total points with 11 of the 16 going Over.
2008/09 Mycapper.com NFL Betting Prediction: DOWN
The Patriots will see some huge spreads that they might struggle to cover, although the schedule is softer than the inside of a meringue. Their division is very weak and they get to beat up on two other very weak divisions out West. In terms of SU results this team could easily go 14-2 or even 15-1 (away games at San Diego and Buffalo could result in rare losses), but be careful of taking to many -14 point lines for this team. The Patriots are still a powerhouse team although the defense might not be as reliable as last season. That will only show in the playoffs as they should fly through the regular season. Look for a lot of high-scoring games and another season that falls short of the championship.
